Guides

These notes are about the countdown on this site: how the link is built, how the timezone is applied, and how to use the page at an actual event without embarrassing the host.

A countdown is a small object with a specific job. It answers “how long from now?” for a group that already knows the plan, or that is about to. It does not replace the invitation, the map, or the calendar alarm. The mistakes we see are consistent: the link encodes a surprise the guest of honor can read, the clock time was entered in the wrong city, the television slept through the last hour, or the countdown was the only notice anyone sent. Each guide below stays on one of those problems and names the controls on the homepage as they are labeled.

You do not need an account to try any of this. Open the countdown, make a link, and open that link in a private window before you send it. If the date line under the digits does not match the invitation, fix it before the group chat does.

What you will not find

There is no embed code. The page does not offer an iframe snippet, and these guides will not pretend otherwise. There is no way to count upward from a past date; after the instant passes, the subtitle says the event has arrived. There is no private mode. If those limits matter for your event, use the countdown for the public mood and keep the sensitive logistics somewhere that is not a URL.

Questions about a specific link: contact@countdowntoyour.com. Paste the URL. We cannot look an event up by name.
